I grew up in a small town in Michigan. I joined the Army after high school when I realized I wasn't ready to deal with more schooling at the time. I spent 2 years on active duty with a 6 month trip to Kuwait/Iraq for the start of the current conflict. After my enlistment was up I moved home, enrolled in school to study architecture, and decided to join the National Guard to get more money for school and because I missed the camraderie involved with being in the military. Little did I know at the time I was joining the national guard the unit I would be assigned to was recieving their deployment orders to go to Iraq. So I put off school to go on a 15 month deployment and spend a year in Iraq training, mentoring, and monitoring the Iraqi Police of Sadr City.
While in Iraq I met my wife online and we talked to eachother every opprotunity we had and knew everything about eachother before we even met in person. Upon returning home I enrolled in community college to take general education classes while deciding what I wanted to do. I am now enrolled in Kaplan University online and pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security and Counter Terrorism. I would like to someday work for the federal government in a job that I will get to meet a lot of people and influence the governnment for the better.
I have been married for about 8 months now, my wife and I are both looking for different jobs (boils down to basically not liking our current ones), becuase we are unable to see eachother much with our current schedules, also we need to make a little more money to cover all the bills.
